The total area is 1,839 square kilometers. As of the end of 2016, the total population of Linquan County was 2.3 million. There are 77 ordinary middle schools with 5,039 full-time teachers and 99,000 students. There are 412 primary schools with 7,495 full-time teachers and 146,000 students. There are 4 secondary vocational education schools with 227 full-time teachers and 13,000 students. The annual education expenditure was 1.45 billion yuan, accounting for 23.9% of the total fiscal expenditure.
