From October 20 to October 22, the 2017 (Jinan) International Cultural Relics Protection Equipment Expo was held in Jinan, attracting numerous exhibitors from Germany, France, Japan, as well as Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places, showcasing the most advanced cultural relic restoration instruments and equipment, micro-environment monitoring and control instruments, museum display equipment, guide systems, new materials and new processes for cultural relic protection and restoration, and digital technologies such as 3D scanning and AR/VR.
The 2017 (Jinan) International Cultural Relics Protection Equipment Expo, themed "Technology and Equipment, Let Ancient Heritage Integrate into Modern Life," lasted for three days, aiming to let the audience personally experience the tremendous assistance that high technology brings to cultural heritage protection and cultural relic exhibition, and striving to build a platform for exhibition, scientific research, academic exchange, and application of cultural relic protection equipment technology, display, and trading.
During the exhibition, multiple "supply-demand release conferences" for cultural relics protection equipment and technology were held, covering multiple directions such as museum construction, exhibition enhancement, cultural relics restoration, ancient building protection, and cultural relics archaeology. The conferences included sessions for supply introduction, demand release, and interactive communication, bridging the "last nanometer" between enterprises and cultural heritage institutions. A themed forum on "Technology and Equipment: Integrating Ancient Heritage into Modern Life" was held, as well as a "Cultural Relics Protection and Restoration" forum with authoritative experts in cultural relics protection and restoration from home and abroad.
Exhibition Highlights
The exhibits include silk series, umbrella series, and the newly launched Qing Palace Haicuo Tu (Sea Creatures) series. "Bringing the Palace Museum culture home" will become one of the biggest highlights of the expo.
